6 Months Old!!

My baby girl is 6 months! Can you believe it?? Half a year....I know it's cliche to say where has time gone, but seriously?! Where has time gone!? This month...

Weight: 18 lbs. 3 oz.
Height: 27 in.

She is loving eating solids and has enjoyed peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peaches, and bananas. I am making the baby food so it's been fun to try some new things and give her fresh...it's baby food I'll actually taste!! She is also sitting up on her own, though sometimes she gives up and decides falling over is just easier! As we inch closer and closer to summer, Jani and I are having fun preparing! She loves going in her running stroller and taking runs with Doug and me. I'm hoping this can become a regular occurrence this summer! She really is a happy baby...the only time we hear her cry is when she's hungry. She will let anyone hold her and has smiles to give at all times! Love you Little Bug!!

This it what love looks like....

One night last week, Jani was out of sorts. She had a low grade fever, was crying constantly and could not be consoled by anything but being in my arms. After trying to put her in her bed for THREE hours, I finally gave in and laid with her in our bed. We both fell asleep and Doug captured the moment on film. She fell asleep with her hand on my cheek. This picture just makes me tear up...she melts my heart and has such unconditional love for us. Her hugs and smiles make any day brighter. A family bed is not for me, but I could definitely use a night like this every once in a while :)

Judge Me...

We had Jani sitting on the deck table in her Bumbo. Pretty sure there's a warning right on the Bumbo that says not to put it on elevated surfaces. Does that make me a bad mom? :) But she LOVED it! The girl would be outside all day if she could. I can't wait for summer!

Pretty Pretty Princess....

My niece Libby turned 3 this month. I cannot believe she is that old! I remember being so excited when she was born because she was the first girl in the family...I was determined she would be a girlie girl. Well, lo and behold, we have a princess on our hands. The girl loves all things pink, glittery, and girlie! She's my kinda girl :) Here are a few pictures we captured at her party...

Wordless Wednesday...

Dear Morning...

Dear Morning,

If you could try not to come so quickly, that would be greatly appreciated. I so love the few moments I get with my daughter in bed. Those last moments...before the sun rises...when our chests rise and fall together and I get to breathe in her sweet baby scent. This is my absolute favorite time of the day. The world stands still and I know that I need to enjoy each and every last drop of this goodness because too soon my baby won't be a baby anymore...

Memories

I've been working on a photo book documenting Jani's birth. It has brought me to tears a few times....remembering how tiny and perfect she was (and still is...aside from the tiny part). Looking at the pictures of all our cuddles and kisses makes me want to do it all over again. It was such an amazing experience!! Here are a few of my favorite pics...

An Eggs-citing Day!

A bad pun, I know...but it was Jani's first go round with eggs...definitely worthy of some attention. She was very uninterested but we forced her to participate. I didn't really take part because I was way too busy with my camera. Oh the joys of making children partake in activities simply to capture the moment on film! Here are a few of our favs....
