Victories for Both of Us!

This weekend Doug got to play in a golf tournament because another guy dropped out. He played with a fellow teacher and some other guys. When they finished they were in the lead but had to wait to hear if anyone finished better than they did. Right before church the next morning he found out they won! This was a very exciting event for him :) He even won a nice trophy we now get to display in our house! :) It will go beautifully with my decor (insert sarcasm). He also won a nice big gift card to use at a golf store. Just what he needs! More golf stuff!

My victory was the finding of my dream diaper bag. Now some of you may not research this stuff as in depth as I so you have probably never heard of Ju Ju Be. It's obviously a diaper bag brand and I fell in love with them after a friend of mine got me hooked. They are way too expensive to buy one brand new so I have been hunting for one online. One day I just decided to search Craigslist and lo and behold, I found one in Des Moines! And it was even the print I wanted....in brand new, never been used condition! Elation set in and I sent me sister out on the hunt to pick it up. I owe her big for doing this for me. Needless to say, I now have my dream bag hanging in the nursery....

baby GIRL!!!! Doug and I found out the sex on his birthday and we are beyond elated. I think I am still in shock! Doug claims she's wearing moo-moo's until she's 30 and is already worried about her meeting boys. Oy vay! I know the next question we'll get is "Have you picked a name?" We have...and we're not telling. Something needs to be a surprise! So for now you will hear her referred to as LP (Little Panther). Even though she's a girl, we're going to instill a love of football in her! Bring on the pink and purple!!! And here's a video for your viewing pleasure...they had to cut out her right arm because she kept hiding her face. She's shy already! Hopefully this too shall pass and she'll inherit her mom and dad's love for the camera :)

A big oops...

So I got a wild hair to paint tonight. Was doing it by myself and all was going well. Until I started to fall backwards and proceeded to knock over the entire gallon of paint. I screamed bloody murder and Doug came running. We saved some of the paint but most of it soaked right into the carpet.

So I've wanted to replace the carpet for awhile because it's just pretty nasty from the previous owners and now the decision has been made for us!! New carpet here we come :)....I'm trying to see the silver lining, okay?
