A Stroll in the Sunshine

With this amazing weather we've been having, Jani has been getting outside a lot. It's so fun to watch her face when she gets outside. Having been born in October it got cold so fast that she never experienced the great outdoors. Here are a few of her first excursions outside!

We took a little mini vacation with my family over the weekend to the waterpark in Dubuque. Jani loves bathtime and we were really excited to put her in the pool. She was a trooper!! She even went under the water! In all the chaos at the waterpark, she fell fast asleep in Grandma's arms. She had such a great time with everyone and we can't wait for family vacation this summer!!

Jani's Love Affair

Jani's absolute favorite toy is her Sophie the Giraffe. It's a rubber giraffe that squeaks. Nothing extravagant. It's been made for many, many years and is from Europe. Jani just chews on it like CRAZY!!! I took some pictures of her the other morning and she looks like she got caught doing something she shouldn't be doing!!

New Obsession...

Need I say more? For Lent, we have decided to turn the TV off in the evenings as much as possible :)

A Reading Teacher's Dream

Jani has recently gotten interested in her books when I read. She used to listen but could care less about the pictures. Now, she is looking intently at the pictures and talking to the pages. It's so much fun to do with her! I love reading (as if my profession didn't already prove that) and I hope that Jani loves it just as much. I grew up with a book attached to me at all times!!
